This week, Lotte and I visited Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, we had a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. It joins Lakes Edward and George, and it is a major tourist attraction in Uganda because of the diverse wildlife around it. Similar to Lake Mburo National Park, we saw many elephants, waterbucks, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. The best part about the safari was getting a photo of a hippo with its mouth open. For the night, we stayed at the Tembo Safari Lodge.
What a morning. We were up @5:15 to prepare for our lion safari. We saw a pretty sunrise and the cutest lion cubs and their mama. I got some photos, but because it was still so early in the morning, most of them are a little blurry and grainy. It was still really cool to see because they got so close to our van. We hoped to see more lions, but we didn’t see any others walking around. Before returning to the lodge, we stopped at a large area to buy gifts. I bought pants, a towel/blanket, a kikoi, coasters, and other little gifts to bring home.
No photos are uploaded from this, but our afternoon was spent visiting the Katwe Community Salt Lake. We learned a lot about its substantial production and the salt mining industry.
