WE WENT RAFTING ON THE NILE RIVER. Seriously though, this was such a special day. This morning, we woke up @6:15, ate breakfast, and left our hotel @7 to go white water rafting. Once we got to White Nile Rafting, we checked in at the reception and waited for further instructions. Eventually, we were given life jackets, helmets, and paddles. Everyone jumped into a bus with a trailer and three large rafts. The drive took around 20 minutes, then we unloaded and got the boats ready. We went down 8 rapids today, with the most difficult being a grade (or level) 5. There were so many times when we got to jump out and swim. The water was oddly warm, which surprised all of us. Throughout the day, we saw lots of wildlife and people on the shore. The scariest (and most fun) was flipping in the grade 5 rapid. After completing it, we paddled back to “surf” it, but we actually went to flip the raft. We tumbled so hard hahah. It felt like I got thrown into a washing machine. We finished around 2ish and they served us beer, soda, or water. When we returned, they served us a delicious BBQ and showed us all the silly photos and videos they had taken.
The Nile rafting trip looks like so much fun! What an opportunity! Glad that no wild animals got you when you were in the water :-)
